For the second consecutive year Coronation Fund Managers was recognised as Best Africa Fund Manager at the prestigious annual Ai Capital Market Index Series Awards held in New York earlier this week. This is the fourth time that Coronation has been awarded this particular accolade since the inception of the awards ceremony.

The Ai Capital Market Index Series Awards are designed to recognise Africa’s best performing fund managers, institutional investors, stock exchanges, listed companies, investment banks, research teams, regulators and socially responsible companies.

Coronation’s Global Head of Institutional Investments Kirshni Totaram, commented: “Having been rated Best Africa Fund Manager four times in the past seven years is testament to our expertise in managing money in frontier and emerging markets."

As an African company, we have been investing and protecting clients’ savings in small, open economies amid ongoing currency and political shocks for almost a quarter of century,” said Peter Leger, Coronation’s Head of Global Frontiers. “This has helped us become disciplined investors who can cut through the noise and focus on the value offered by individual companies over the long term. It has also helped us to find exceptional value where others may only see risk, especially in Africa, where we understand the dynamics of formalising economies against the background of political turmoil.”

We believe frontier markets represent the next untapped investment opportunity. These markets offer a wide variety of economies and industries and an increasingly attractive long-term economic diversifier for global portfolios.”

Coronation Fund Managers is one of the largest independent managers of institutional assets in Southern Africa, with a track record of delivering strong long-term returns.
