We are a team of individuals with different backgrounds, skills and ways of thinking. Our diversity is a competitive advantage, helping us challenge assumptions, solve problems more effectively, and stay future-focused.
Over the years, we’ve developed a culture that values both teamwork and individual accountability. Ours is a flat, meritocratic structure, where great work is recognised, regardless of title or tenure.

Our Industry
We’re helping to build a more inclusive and future-fit industry
Looking beyond our own walls, we are helping to drive transformation across the industry through active engagement with government, regulators and peers.
We support initiatives that develop talent and broaden access at all levels of the sector. Our track record includes supporting the establishment of three black-owned asset managers, launching programmes to grow emerging black stockbrokers, and playing a key role in creating South Africa’s first black-owned transfer agency.

Our Community
We take a long-term view of our role in society
As an active corporate citizen, we focus on three areas with the potential to create lasting social change: education, food security and financial literacy.
We build long-term relationships with our CSI partners and support the broader ecosystem around each initiative. For example, our education programmes empower learners as well as their teachers and caregivers. Our employees are hands-on participants, and progress is tracked by our Social, Ethics and Transformation Committee to keep us accountable to our goals.

Our clients’ best interests guide every decision
Guided by the same investment philosophy since day one, we manage our clients’ capital with a long-term, valuation-driven approach grounded in rigorous research. Over the decades, this strategy has delivered consistent outperformance.
We also take our stewardship role seriously. That means staying closely engaged with the companies we invest in – meeting with boards, management teams, competitors and industry experts – to make informed decisions and help protect long-term value.
Performance is measured on an asset-weighted basis, since inception, for strategies with a 10-year+ track record. As at end September 2024.
We’ve come a long way, but the work is far from over. We remain committed to investing in the future we’re building with our people, industry, community, and clients.
